Barsac is one of the five communes that make up the Sauternes region. The Climen 1er Cru Classé Barsac Sauternes (as designated in the 1855 Bordeaux Classification) is in some respects only second behined the legendary Château d'Yquem. Intense aromas of orange blossom, dried apricots, marmalade, nectarine, pineapple upside-down cake, and wild honey, with hints of Crème Brûlée, exotic spices, saffron, and a touch of minerality.
